Painted & Engraved Rum Bottles for Flor de Caña x The Savoy, London

The brief was to engrave the front with the name of the cocktail, Velvet Scones, along with a mention of the collaboration, whilst the back was engraved with a personal note from the General Manager of Gallery at The Savoy, who had created the signature drink. The colour palette was to incorporate gold and tropical green, with hints of peach-orange, signifying the roots of the rum from the sugarcane plant. 

I then carefully handpainted the bottles using a special glass acrylic paint. This process was painstaking as the bottles were coated with a slick coating, making it harder for the paint to adhere. In the end it took 3-4 layers of paint to achieve the desired results. I used a mixture of large and small leaves to create a varied look, with some leaves draping across the sides of the bottle for a natural feel.
