Engraved Waterford Crystal Glass

On my first week back in studio after the summer holidays, I received an exciting enquiry to personalise a couple of Waterford crystal glass vases with engraving.

This was a private commission from lovely Sara, a repeat client who earlier this year had ordered one of my engraved vases. She got in touch again saying how much she loved that piece and wanted to order two more. Based local to me in Ealing, West London, Sara was gifting these Waterford vases to her family for a wedding celebration in September.

Crystal glass is a very fine glass and a wonderful surface to engrave with its soft and smooth nature, it is without doubt one of my favourite things to engrave.

Each vase was engraved with the recipient’s relationship to the new bride (Mother, Sister) followed by the wedding date below in a smaller script. The engraving was finished in gold for the extra luxury factor. 

As a luxury calligrapher, I take my job very seriously in ensuring that each product is handled with the most care, especially as a lot of these are very high-value and delicate items. 

To protect the crystal glass, I wore gloves at all times and only handled the glass using microfibre cloths before finishing with a polishing spray to remove any dust or marks.
My client was delighted with the finished vases and I received the below from them:

“Oh my goodness these are beautiful! Thank you so much. Absolutely stunning. Thank you so much for fitting us in and getting it done so quickly, we really appreciate it!”
