Live Chalice Glass Engraving

Netflix x Stella Artois, London – Live Chalice Glass Engraving

To celebrate the release of Netflix’s The Gentlemen Season 2 and the partnership between Netflix and Stella Artois, a special launch event was held at The Marlborough pub in London across three days in September.

I was honoured to be invited to provide live engraving on the limited-edition The Gentlemen’s Serve chalices as part of the experience. The event transformed the pub into the world of The Gentlemen, creating an immersive setting where guests could enjoy the partnership and take home their own personalised chalice.

The opportunity to have a name or initials engraved onto the glass quickly became one of the highlights of the experience, with the activation generating significant excitement among guests and attracting long queues outside the pub by the second day.

With the event running across three days and a high volume of guests expected, the live engraving needed to be both efficient and precise. I was joined by fellow calligrapher Jodie, allowing us to provide personalised engraving throughout the full launch event.

Guests could choose to have their name or initials engraved onto the frosted chalice, alongside one of seven illustrated icons created specifically for the activation. Each illustration had a connection to The Gentlemen, allowing guests to add another personal touch to their limited-edition glass.

Engraving directly onto frosted glass presents its own challenges, particularly when working at speed in a busy live event environment. Using a specialised engraving technique, I was able to create each design directly onto the chalice without drafting beforehand.

This allowed us to maintain a steady flow of guests while ensuring that every personalisation was carefully engraved with a professional and luxurious finish. The combination of names, initials and show-inspired illustrations meant that every chalice felt unique to the guest receiving it.
live glass engraving turned a branded product into a memorable keepsake
The live engraving activation quickly became a major draw at the launch event. Guests were excited by the opportunity to take home a limited-edition The Gentlemen’s Serve chalice with their own name on it, creating a strong sense of anticipation around the personalisation experience.

By the second day, queues had formed outside The Marlborough as people arrived hoping to secure their own personalised glass. The experience also gained significant attention across social media, extending the impact of the activation beyond the event itself.

Being part of the launch across all three days was a huge joy, and it was particularly rewarding to see how a simple piece of live personalisation could create such excitement around the Netflix and Stella Artois partnership.

The project demonstrated how live glass engraving can turn a branded product into a memorable keepsake, while giving guests an engaging experience that feels personal to them.
