Live Engraving for L’Oreal Paris – Covent Garden, London

In 2025, I had the honour of being invited to provide live engraving and calligraphy services for L’Oreal Paris at their iconic Le Défilé runway event in Covent Garden, London. The event, held at Balthazar restaurant, featured an ice bar, a photo wall, and a luxurious setup designed to showcase L’Oreal’s beauty and fashion offerings. Guests were invited to personalise lipsticks and compact mirrors, creating a bespoke experience aligned with the brand’s high-end image.
Kirstie Bird invited me to support this event, where I set up a live engraving station where guests could select their item as either a lipstick or compact mirror and have it engraved on the spot. Using delicate tools and precision techniques, I hand-engraved names and initials, ensuring each item was flawlessly finished and reflected the luxury feel of the L’Oreal brand.
Attention to detail was paramount, and each compact mirror and lipstick was treated with care, and the personalised calligraphy elevated the overall guest experience, turning a simple product into a treasured keepsake.
The live engraving station was a standout feature of the brand event. Guests were delighted to receive their personalised products, with many engaging directly with the live art process. 

Notably, Alaia-Mai, daughter of Marvin and Rochelle Humes, became one of the first to enjoy the experience, engraving her initials and name.

The event demonstrated the impact of luxury calligraphy and personalisation in enhancing a brand activation in London, leaving a memorable impression on attendees and generating positive feedback for both L’Oreal Paris and the personalised service provided.
