Live Hand Fan Hot Foiling for Peroni at Royal Ascot 2026

I was absolutely delighted to be invited to Royal Ascot 2026 to provide live hot foiling for the House of Peroni, personalising hand fans for guests in the Queen Anne's Enclosure.

Royal Ascot is one of the UK's most iconic sporting and social events, bringing together guests for a week of racing, hospitality and celebration. With its elegant dress code and beautiful surroundings, it was the perfect setting for a bespoke personalisation experience.

The brief was to offer guests a personalised hand fan, creating a practical yet luxurious keepsake they could use throughout the event and take home afterwards.

Across five days at Royal Ascot, I provided live on-site hot foiling, carefully personalising each hand fan with guests' names in gold lettering.

Hot foiling on hand fans is a relatively unusual application of the technique, and I'd spent time refining my approach to ensure the finish was both beautiful and durable. The gold foil created a lovely shimmer against the fans, adding an elegant touch that complemented the occasion.

With a constant queue of guests throughout the five days, working quickly and precisely was essential. Drawing on my experience as a professional calligrapher and live event artist, I was able to maintain a steady pace without compromising on the quality of each personalisation.

Just as importantly, I loved chatting with guests as I worked. One of my favourite things about live artistry is seeing people watch their personalisation take shape and hearing their reactions when they receive the finished piece.

The feedback was wonderful, with some guests even telling us that the fans were the best at Royal Ascot!
The project showcased how live hot foiling can work beautifully beyond traditional corporate merchandise, bringing an unexpected element of personalisation to a prestigious sporting event.

It was a real privilege to be part of such an iconic occasion and to see guests enjoying something created especially for them.

For me, it was also a lovely example of how live calligraphy and personalisation can be adapted to suit different settings, audiences and products.
